Supporting every learner — from home-educated pupils needing regular guidance to children seeking a little extra help alongside school.
Qualified teacher | 18 years in education | Based near Brixworth

I’m Robert Glaysher, a qualified teacher (PGCE) with over 18 years of experience in education and more than 700 hours of tutoring. I’ve taught all subjects through to Year 6 and specialise in Maths, English, and non-verbal reasoning through to Year 8.
Having worked in prestigious independent schools such as Maidwell Hall and Copthorne, I now dedicate my time to 1-to-1 and small-group tutoring for both school-based and home-educated pupils.
My sessions combine academic rigour with creativity, outdoor learning, and real-world problem-solving, helping children develop confidence and curiosity as well as knowledge. I adapt each lesson to the child’s pace and personality, building strong relationships so learning feels enjoyable, achievable, and purposeful.
Parents often choose my approach because it blends the structure of classroom teaching with the flexibility and individuality that home education allows. Whether your child needs steady academic support or an engaging enrichment programme, I ensure every session is tailored to help them thrive.

Sessions are usually an hour long and structured to balance focus, challenge, and enjoyment.
Each lesson begins with a short starter activity — for maths, this often includes three quick one-minute challenges covering multiplication, addition, and subtraction. The main part of the session then focuses on the key topic or skill we’re targeting, often designed to reinforce or extend what your child is currently learning at school.
All of our tutoring sessions take place on an iPad, ensuring there aren't pages and pages of paper, and also allowing parents to see, digitally, what their child is able to complete within the sessions.
We finish with fun competitions or problem-solving challenges — often against me! — to keep motivation high and end each lesson on a positive note.
For all pupils from year 2, through to GCSE's, specialising in Common Entrance (Year 8)
We can offer English tutoring for pupils through to the end of primary school age, year 6.
If you child is preparing for senior school entrance tests, we offer specialist verbal and non verbal reasoning support for senior school entrance tests.
If your child requires a short term boost to support their classroom/ home learning we can work on individual topics to get them back on track.
Occasionally when the classroom teaching just isn't enough, we can deliver 'outdoor learning' to deliver the curriculum lessons in a different way. Ensuring that your child will see the topic from a different angle and offer delivery in a unique way.
